Answers the BIG questions

  • How do you get men to come into your programs and keep them coming?
  • What are the obstacles that prevent men from being involved?
  • Why should you get men involved?

The Center for Successful Fathering presents a year long series of high energy, father-friendly, interactive instructional sessions aimed at dads of children from birth through six years. The course content and the learning process incorporates lessons learned from over a decade of hands-on experiences with tens of thousands of
fathers. The content appeals to a new father's need to make a difference in the life of his child, and offers proven effective ways to get started. The process minimizes the use of lecture and emphasizes the use of movement, interaction and physical play.

This curriculum is designed for both male and female parent educators to use. Because so many parent educators involved in early childhood programs are female, the curriculum frames the role of the educator as a learning facilitator. The workbook for dads has exercises and case studies that make this a full year curriculum.

Curriculum Contents

  • Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) DVD with 7 supporting videos from Dr Ron Klinger
  • 6 copies of the workbook of ($120 value) in English or Spanish (just tell us)
  • Facilitator scripts for each of the 10 sessions
  • Workshop Agendas for each of the sessions
  • Activities, book ideas, games, handouts, dad invitation samples, evaluations and more
  • Interactive programs that dads and kids enjoy

Testimonials

“Dr. Klinger hits the ‘nail on the head’ with Preparing for Successful Fathering. The material is directly applicable for Early Head Start and Head Start staff members, whether they are classroom teachers, home visitors, or supervisors in the field.

Additionally, once trained, staff is able to work with moms and dads more effectively, to recruit dads and increase their participation; engage and develop rapport with dads; and sustain dads’ continued participation in the program in a variety of areas. These areas include home visits, group parenting classes, parent committee work, socialization sessions with focus children and staff, and special events.”
